Suppose you need to send some large photos through Outlook, even if you attach these photos as attachments or insert them into the body of the message directly, this image may be too large for recipients to receive or view regularly. In fact, you can change the size of both the attached image and the image in the mail body before you send the mail.

Resize the image attached in Outlook 2010,2013

Step 1: Create a new message by click “New email” button on the Tab homepage in the email.

Step 2: In the mail window, click “attach file” button on Insert tab

Step 3: In the Insert file dialog box that pops up, find out and select the image, and click “Insert” button.

Step 4: In the Mail window, click File> Information.

Step 5: Check the option of “Resizing large images when I send this message“.

Step 6: Compose your email and send it.

Step 1: Create a new message by click File> New> Message Messages, or just click “New” in the Ribbon.

Step 2: In the mail window, please click “attach file” button on Insert tab.

Step 3: In the Insert file dialog box that pops up, select the image, and click “Insert” button.

Step 4: Click the “arrow” button in the bottom right corner in Include group on “Insert” to activate the Attachment Options dialog box.

Step 5: Go to “Image Options” in the Attachment Options box, please click Select Image Size: box, and choose one of the image sizes based on your needs.

Note: If you select the “Show option” when attaching a file, the Attachment will automatically appear when you attach the image in your draft message.

Step 6: Compose an email and send it.

  • In Outlook 2010 and 2013, please click “New E-mail” button on the Home tab in the view email;
  • In Outlook 2007, please click File> New> Message Messages, or just click “New” in Ribbon.

Step 3: In the Insert image pop-up dialog box, please learn and select the image, and click “Insert” button.
