When Microsoft Outlook is first installed, it sets the font for composing and reading mail to a small Calibri or Arial font. If this is not your preferred font, you can adjust the font settings to better suit your needs.

Step 1: Open Outlook > select File > Options.

Step 2: Select “Mail“.

Step 3: Click “Stationery and Fonts“.

Step 4: Open “Font“, Make your desired changes to new mail messages, replying or forwarding messages, and/or composing and reading plain text messages.

Step 5: Choose your preferred font type, style, size, color, and effect.

Step 6: Click “OK” once to finish and then twice more to close out of the Signatures and Stationery window and Outlook’s options.

Step 1: Go into the Tools > Options… menu.

Step 2: Click “Mail Format” tab.

Note: If you set a default color for replies and forwarded emails, but Outlook refuses to use it, try setting up a default signature.
