Automatically filter messages from senders in Gmail. You can also use filters to send messages from a specified sender to a certain label (folder).Here’s how.
Step 1: Open Gmail.
Step 2: Click the arrow to the right of the Gmail search bar to display the “Advanced Gmail search” box.
Step 3: Type the name of the message sender you want to filter the “From” field. You can create features with your filter by identifying multiple information into other fields. When you have entered the information, click the “Create filter with this search“. The “Create filter” box appears.
Step 4: Select an option and click the “Create filter” button.
Note: This box will ask you what you want to do with each message that each message meets the criteria you specify in the “Advanced Gmail search” box.
- Options “Skip the Inbox” will remove these messages from your Gmail inbox. The “Delete it” option will remove unwanted messages from a sender including the Inbox and Spam folder.
Step 5: Check the box next to “Apply the label” option. A drop down menu will display the available labels. Click on the label where you want to save the messages from a specific sender, in this case the “Former Employees“. Click “Create filter” to create a filter.
All messages from the specified sender will be labeled and easily found. Use the Move To icon (like a folder) to remove messages from the Primary tab, so you can’t see them. Wish you are succesful!
